Go Irish

November 9, 2006, by esilvas No comments yet

So, it appears that our game against Air Force will only be broadcast on CSTV (College Sports TV). Big whoop. Look, there are plenty of times that we have not played well and NBC or some other network has carried us only because of the tradition. While I LOVE watching ND games, we can’t always be on the tube. So CSTV is not a major player in college sports (despite it’s name). They have a contract with the Mountain West to broadcast games and they should be allowed to do it. If not, their contracts will become meaningless. CBS did the right thing in allowing the relatively unknown CSTV to broadcast the game. Now, Air Force might want more exposure on CBS, but they always have the option to make that known to the executives. So far, it looks like I will be taping CSTV this weekend. I am sure I am one of the few Domers to subscribe to it.

Spurs, baby!

Whew! What a game. They looked poor early on, but pulled it out in the end. It looked as though Tim and Manu struggled while Fabricio came out of nowhere to help pick up the slack. I know Manu does not have to carry the team, but we got used to seeing his ‘crazy’ drives to the hole. Hopefully, this is a good portent of a strong bench and even better things to come. The season is early, but no Spurs fan will complain about a victory over both the Mavs and Suns.

Microsoft and the Linuxes

It may be that Microsoft has managed to find a way to splinter Linux. But for me, it really looks like it will help Linux continue to mature and become a household (corporate) option. If the big boys (Oracle, Microsoft) are looking at Linux, it must meant they see money and competition. Neither one is bad for the consumer.
