So, I went to the Dell site last night and decided to buy my beloved a laptop. She deserves it. She works hard and the one I previously purchased is not only old, but low quality and is quite heavy.

I am thinking an Inspiron 1521.  AMD processor, 2GB RAM, Bluetooth, draft-N wireless. Pretty good for the price.

Hold the horses.

I started out by applying for the Dell Advantage program because it tells me that I can receive 2% off the price. Not bad I think. I can get it lower than the already refurbished price and get a little extra.

Wrong.

Apparently, this approval process is not as fast as Dell says. Even worse, try to pay with a credit card after having applied for this “advantage”.   It won’t be easy, if you follow Dell’s advice.  After speaking with not less than five (5) people, I was (finally) able to use a credit card to purchase the machine.

Who did I call? The number on the Dell home page.

Strange, seeing as how every other Dell employee told me the next person would help and that I should write down the phone number in case I was disconnected.  Reaallly.  I wasn’t disconnected, you guys just don’t know how to take an order! Sheesh!  So, I am now waiting for the laptop to arrive.

I hope my honey will be happy.  In addition to the aforementioned specs, it’s also espresso brown.I try. I really do.
