I went on an overnight leadership retreat for my church this past weekend to the diocesan retreat center Camp Capers. While at the retreat, we discovered that many of us have Facebook accounts. So, we decided to create an FB group. (It’s called St. Margaret’s Episcopal Church in case you want to join.)

We also learned from the instructor that using social networking is just one of many “connection points” that we can use in the realm of personal evangelism. That is, the people that each of us know. We all have the mental picture of someone on a street corner belting out chapter and verse from the Bible. But, we have many more opportunities to tell others about Jesus the Christ from those we already know. Many churches already encourage their members to tell friends about Jesus first and consider this their “mission field”. I think this is good advice.
