It came as no surprise to me that Google announced to day a new app store for its Chrome OS. Why? Well, because:
- Apple has proven the app store concept to be viable and profitable.
- How else will you make use of an operating system that is web based with little/no local storage available?
Even more, the Chrome app store was able to show off some impressive apps, including one from Sports Illustrated. As an Apple fan, it’s no skin off my nose when good competition forces Apple to continue innovating. And, when Apple makes a misstep, these competitors are free to offer a good/service that I want at a price I accept.
Congratulations Google, you have officially peaked my interest.
