…When your dog comes home on his own after getting out of the backyard last night. All of us felt depressed this morning when I noticed Charlie had gotten out of an unlocked gate last night. He likes to take care of business in the middle of the night, so letting him out in the early morning hours is normal. When I did not see him this morning, I knew something was wrong. After calling his name at 3AM outside my home and receiving no response, I was crestfallen. My wife and kids took it hard also. But, after notifying our local animal services center (dog catcher), I was quite pleased to hear the tell-tale signs of Charlie’s return at the back door. He was a little dirty and tired, but looks great.
After a quick treat, I am taking him to the local pet pampering shop for a much-needed bath and nail trim.
Thanks Charlie, you made my day.
