Trying out ChurchDirector.com

I am testing out ministry management software called Churchdirector.com. We hope to use this for all ministry’s within the church. So far, it looks fairly straight forward. However, I have to “invite” volunteers. It would be nice if I could create an account for them on my own.

YouTube for the Youth Group

It turns out that almost all the kids in my youth group have a YouTube page with videos. Now, if I can only get them interested in doing something for the church. Hmm…. Oh wait! We are doing something – that’s our summer project.
Here are the youth’s websites:

Spring Fiesta Preparation Video is Up!

Uploading new YouTube video

The youth group finished a new video for uploading this weekend.  However, I have learned a few things during this process:

It’s sometimes hard to control the program you used to make the video.  We used iPhoto for the second one and we could not identify how to move a picutre’s sequence.

Setting up YouTube account not trivial

Well, I have been trying for about a day or so to get a YouTube account. As part of the process, I need to respond to a generated email confirmation request. Unfortunately, it has taken a bit longer than expected. At first, this was supposed to take only a few moments. [...]

Summer Techno-Ministry

How is this different from not having class? Well, I’m glad you asked.
I introduced [...]

Carnival Games – my new life

Here it is in all its glory.
Ain’t it grand?
Don’t [...]

Social Networking experiment

Going back to my days working in a cancer biology lab, I decided to also do another experiment besides Google AdWords [see below].  I also added links to the upcoming youth events on my FaceBook, Twitter, MySanAntonio.com and the KLOVE.com events.
So far, the FB (FaceBook) and MySA links have driven at least one person each [...]

[Updated] Sermoncast Volunteers

This past weekend I asked my youth group to think about volunteering to manage and upload any sermoncasts that we create. Usually, the youth group is about many things within the church and are often at the forefront of technology related requests. However, I wanted to give them an opportunity to do something [...]
